Sustainable Living

Helping Create a More Sustainable World

AZEK® Building Products, along with its parent company, The AZEK Company, reimagines outdoor living spaces inspired by nature and beautifully engineered to last.

Each year, AZEK turns 145 million pounds of recycled materials into high-performance, low-maintenance, stylish products each year. To achieve this, we focus on clean manufacturing, sustainable product development, and conservation.

Clean Manufacturing

Waste Management

  • Each year, AZEK Building Products reduces the amount of trash sent to landfills by recycling and reclaiming a majority of its waste material during our manufacturing process.

Energy Efficiency

  • AZEK Building Products chooses to ship its products by rail, saving thousands of gallons of fuel per year and reducing carbon emissions.

Water Efficiency

  • TimberTech® manufacturing has developed a unique, closed-loop water filtration system, which recycles and reuses hundreds of gallons of water each day.

Product Development

  • TimberTech decking is manufactured from up to 73% recycled material.
  • AZEK® Deck is manufactured from up to 36% recycled material.
  • The AZEK Vintage Collection® has achieved a Class "A" Flame Spread* rating, reducing the risk of spreading fires in communities susceptible to drought.
  • All AZEK and TimberTech products are urea formaldehyde-free.

  • Our engineered decks help save trees. The average deck size is 320 square feet (Principia 2014), and the average wooden deck requires 1.22 trees (not including the railing)**. Over the past 5 years, we have built over 740,000 engineered decks, saving approximately 900,000 trees.
  • Our containerboard and corrugated packaging cartons are made with recycled material fibers which meet SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) sourcing requirements and are 100% recyclable.
  • PVC and composite decks will last considerably longer than an average wood deck, reducing the frequency of replacing traditional wood decking.***
  • AZEK Building Products are certified by the National Green Building Standard (NGBS). We are also a participating member of the International Code Council, ASTM International and the Composite Lumber Manufacturers Association.

*Rating based on results of testing per ASTM E84, which is recognized by the international Building Code (IBC) as a standard method of testing flame spread.
